Most recently, Gyan was Sub-Editor of Kantipur Television Network, a leading channel in Nepal under the Kantipur Media Group (KMG) that explores the multidimensional impact of important events by farming them in formats like news bulletins, interviews and etc.

Gyan began his career as a reporter at Nagarik National Daily in early 2011, before moving to Republica National Daily in May 2016, where he reported on a wide range of socio-political issues from human rights, post-quake reconstruction to bureaucracy. Together in both outlets, he contributed for over 100 front-page bylines, most of which include the extensive coverage on the historical-cultural aspects of Kathmandu bagging the special recognition award from Kathmandu Metropolitan in January 2016—received from the Deputy Premier Kamal Thapa. Other important coverage includes the discoveries from thousands of years old Mustang’s man-made caves, ill-functioning of the INGOs supposed to work on Earthquake reliefs, post-war Truth and Reconciliation (TRC)/disappearance issues, among others. He was also a part of the teams that covered SAARC summit-2014, visits of Indian Premier Narendra Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee. He is trained in Investigative News, Breaking News, and Feature Writing.
